Inland Andalucia
If you are looking for more peace and quiet then we have many properties for sale in the inland areas of Andalucia. Many are far cheaper than the coast, and are away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas.
Here we tell you about Coin and Alhaurin el Grande, two of our favorite places, but there are many other towns that we cover. Either use our search tool, or let us know what you are looking for and we’ll use all our resources to help you find what you want.
Coín
Coín is one of the most up and coming inland villages on the Costa del Sol. This once small village is expanding at an amazing pace and is fast becoming a place of residence for many foreigners.
It is ideally located, just 25 minute drive down to Marbella, and 20 minutes to Malaga Airport. It’s historic past goes right back to the Roman occupation, followed by the Moors in around 929AD, and then again conquered by the Christians (rumoured to be Christopher Columbus).
The village has two main squares and pretty narrow streets with small family owned shops, bars and restaurants. On the edge of town, a commercial centre called La Trocha has been built with a multi-screen cinema and shops, including the Irish Dunnes Store.
Coín has all types of properties for sale including very reasonably priced townhouses and apartments, several developments of new apartments in the centre and residential estates on the outskirts of the town. Prices are lower than the coastal areas and the living is slower-paced. With a good school in the area, and the local village feel – Coín attracts families and those looking for a gentler country life in Southern Spain.
Alhaurin el Grande
Dating as far back as Neolithic times, Alharuin El Grande has an incredible history. Like it’s neighbour Coín, Alhaurin’s history really started in Roman times, then the Moors took over, followed by the re-conquest of the Christians.
Alhaurin el Grande is situated within 10 minutes away from Coín, 30 minutes from Marbella, and 20 minutes from Malaga airport. This unique position means that the area experienced a massive property boom in the last 10 years, with a huge amount of ex-pats making this their home. There is a variety of bars, restaurants and shops as well as all the amenities provided by the shopping centre, La Trocha, in nearby Coín.
The beautiful, and mountainous, Alhuarin Golf Club is on the edge of town providing golfers with a stunning course without having to go all the way down to the coast to play.
Property here is cheaper than on the coast, and many new developments have sprung up providing a place to live in a slower-paced environment, surrounded by beautiful countryside and mountains.
