The late Princess of Wales, Julio Iglesias, the British band the Rolling Stones, Antonio Banderas, the Saudi royal family, government heads and ministers have all passed through the luxury establishment’s doors.
After being closed for several years the iconic Hotel Byblos de Mijas will reopen its doors in June 2022, coinciding with the start of the summer high season. It will be renamed the La Zambra hotel, while maintaining its luxury category and forming part of the Hyatt chain’s Unbound Collection.
La Zambra will have 196 rooms of different categories (double, standard, deluxe golf view, deluxe garden view, junior suite, standard suite and premium suite, as well as a grand suite of 125 square metres), all of them with a terrace and views of the golf course or the mountains.
The hotel offers access to the two golf courses and will include three swimming pools, two tennis courts and two padel courts, a gym, a yoga and Pilates room, as well as a ‘wellness’ health centre with Turkish bath, sauna and hammam. It will also house ten treatment rooms.
In addition, the gastronomic offer at La Zambra will be "flexible and personalised" according to the needs and tastes of the client; and include, at sunset, the rotunda bar, where you can remember the golden years of the Costa del Sol in the 90s.
